DA’s Sex Offender Ban Continues to Be Repealed by Cities

Westminster city officials this week became the latest Orange County city to repeal a ban on sex offenders in city parks, following a recent appeals court ruling striking down a similar county law.

Wednesday night, council members voted 3-1, with councilmember Sergio Contreras voting no and Andy Quach absent, to repeal the ordinance requiring convicted sex offenders to get written permission from police before setting foot in a city park. Violation was a misdemeanor. Full Article

Note: The Article contains a video segment of the December 2012 Lake Forest City Council Hearing, featuring a discussion between Lake Forest Mayor Kathryn McCullough and Orange County District Attorney Rackauckas. Worth watching! Several California RSOL members attended the meeting and spoke in favor of a repeal of the ordinance. Show up, Stand up, Speak up!

Best quote from this whole parks fiasco:

“The effectiveness of this law will never show up on a statistic,” Susan Kang Schroeder, chief of staff for the district attorney, said in a past interview. “Because a sex offender did not show up in a park, a child did not get raped or molested.”

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen…. the Chief of Staff of Orange County’s top Law Enforcement Agency.

…the exchange on the video was epic!

You’re right, the video is epic, but it was so much better in person. I felt like I was watching a segment from the movie, “A FEW GOOD MEN”.
And as most of you are aware..as Susan K. Schroeder was pleading for the safety of children on Halloween, soon after, her own husband that year was driving drunk on Halloween and was issued a DUI. These people with their Holier than thou attitudes make me want to puke.

Also…perhaps someone could shed some light on a issue I am having. I posted a comment on the above article. It was there, with another posting, and now it’s gone. This seems to happen every time I post. I am posting through facebook.

I not sure why the Lake Forest Mayor is bothering to ask the OC DA to guarantee the indemnity of the city if they did not repeal the ordinance. I mean, why bother?

It was already proven that his guarantees are a bit worthless to begin with. Since, at the start of all this, he guaranteed all the cities in the county, that passed a copy of his county ordinance, that it was “bullet proof in the courts”.

But I’m sure it a comfort to the citizens of Lake Forest to know that Rackauckas is willing to fight, to the last dollar of THEIR city treasury, in an effort to wipe the egg of HIS face.
